Mum and pup were once connected with a small chain, as evidenced by the loops on each figure. Perhaps there was a second pup, as is common with similar collectibles of their era? They appear to be Boston terriers, maybe little bulldogs. Mum stands approximately 2.5"h and puppy 1.25". Great little pieces for any dog lover. Note rust marks and teeny tiny flea bits, visible in photos. Made in Japan.
