Vintage Hand-Carved Wooden Bird, Beach/Water Fowl, Plover, Road Runner/Vacation Souvenir

This quirky little bird resembles a plover, in my opinion, but could represent another water/beach fowl or perhaps a road runner? Very sweet, hand-carved, two-tone wood with glass eyes, standing approximately 10" long x 5" high x 2" deep. Note crack on chest, presumably from the wood drying, over time. Does not affect structural integrity or beauty. Country of origin unknown. Handpicked in Canada.
